Sydney is a deeply dedicated instructor who understands physical pain, trauma in the body, and the need and desire to be active.

 

She started her Pilates journey in the early 2000s during her recovery from radiation therapy and has used it to rehabilitate from a motor vehicle incident, shoulder dislocation, bilateral adductor tears, and foot and leg surgery.  

With over 17 years of experience, Sydney has become a comprehensive, certified instructor in Stott Pilates and Balanced Body Pilates. She trained under master instructor Jaqueline Martin, who studied under Jay Grimes, a direct student of Joseph Pilates.

 

Sydney has furthered her education and certifications in Barre, Pilates for Scoliosis, Pilates for Breast Cancer, Zenga Flow Pilates, Chronic Pain Yoga, Cardio Tramp for Pilates, Athletic Pilates, and is also a 500 RYT yoga instructor.

 

Sydney has worked with various clients at all levels and abilities as a physiotherapy assistant and in athletic settings. Including professional athletes and those covered by ICBC or WCB claims.

 

Committed to ongoing learning, she is currently assisting in Dana Carter's Pilates teacher training program as well as assisting in Balanced Body teacher training program here in Victoria, BC.

 

Sydney has a role at the Vancouver Island Health Authority, where she focuses on mental health and substance use as a regional leader. In her downtime, Sydney enjoys dancing classes and her many animals on the farm.
